Carnival of Video Game Bloggers, October 2010

Welcome to the October 2010 edition of Carnival of Video Game Bloggers.

Toni presents The Sims 3 Barnacle Bay Review posted at Wifely Steps. Here, Toni gives us a bit of a story of the life of a Sim, along with some thoughts on how Barnacle Bay plays. Click on over for the story, and consider if this game might also be for you with the review.

Robert Chapman presents World of Warcraft / Jerik in Azeroth 3 posted at Bob’s Blog, saying, “In this series of WoW articles I plan to test the addictiveness of one of the most popular MMORPG’s. This is part 3 in the series but all are available on the site provided. So far, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. It is an enjoyable game though, no question.”  Here we have one person’s experience of WoW as he gives it a shot to see why people like it so much.

Patricia Duggan presents Game On: 12 Recent Studies Showing Video Game Play Improves Self posted at Psychology Degree, saying, “The twelve recent studies listed in the article are showing video game play can be an improvement. So set the controller down for a while, have a read, and see how video games can help everything from reaction time to social skills.” Lots of studies that show the benefits of gaming, you’ll find some good reads in here. Take a look, especially if you’re looking to convince someone your gaming isn’t a waste of time.

Jasen Choi, I got links to your articles, but your site seems to be down at the moment, I’ll check back in a few days to see if it’s up again, and if so, I’ll post them.
