Database Crash

Update 10/27/2010: Well, related posts is working again, and most of the other small pieces that were broken seem to be moving along as well. Unfortunately, any comments lost are gone for good, as I don’t have as recent a backup for them as I did other parts of the site. If yours happened to be deleted, I’m sorry. If you see this, you’re more than welcome to repost what you had to say, or you can just let it be, whatever you prefer.

If you’ve been here the past couple days, you may have noticed the site was down. I’m not actually sure when this happened, as it has been a couple days since I last checked in.

The good news is, I had a backup that had all of my posts saved within it, and I was able to restore the site from that. The bad news is that I’ve lost some of the comments that were posted more recently, and I’ve also managed to break a couple other features (such as related posts) in the process of bringing the site back.

As I have most of the site back on track again, I’m not going to worry about getting the other stuff fixed right now, as it’s late for me, I have work early tomorrow, and a weekend trip ahead of me. Since I have the main stuff working for now, I’m happy, and I hope to get the rest of the site working in the next week or two. Sorry for any problems you guys have been having.

I feel for ya man. Stellar job getting it all seemingly back up and running though.

Glad you managed to restore everything. I think it’s great that right next to this post was an advert for “need a new PC?”!
