Gaming My Way

Thursday, January 28, 2010 – I decided to start a blog carnival for those who blog about video games and rpgs. Hoping to see people sign on to get some good work floating around.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - I’ve fixed the monthly and category archives to show 10 posts per topic instead of 2. Also, I relabeled the sitemap as an archive, as that’s basically what it is, and, as always, you can find every post I’ve written from that page. This should make it easier to find some of my older writing. Plus, I think it looks better that way anyway.

Friday, February 20, 2009 – I’ve added a contact page, as this should make it easier to find any info you should need if you want to say anything about the site. This weekend, I’m hoping to take a look at how the archives and category listings are set up in order to make them easier to navigate. If I don’t get to it this weekend, I’ll get to it next week when I have very little in the way of work to do. Expect a bit of an overhaul soon though.

Sunday, January 18, 2009 - I now have a job which will likely be taking up a fair bit of my time now. What this means is that I have less time to do two things:  game, and maintain a site about gaming, such as this one. I’m not shutting the site down or anything like that, I just likely won’t be updating as often for the time being.

Saturday, January 3, 2009 - I’m now adding a date to the normal news, so people can see when it has last been updated for those who care to read it. It’s usually pretty dry, as you can surely see, but sometimes is good to know about. Also, I’ll be doing some minor maintenance later on, though I don’t expect anyone should notice it when I get to it.

Monday, December 1, 2008 - Fairly soon I’m going to begin maintenance to hopefully make the site load faster. If all goes well, no one should notice anything, but if the site does go down for a short time, I’ll have it back up as soon as I can.

Update: Everything should be good now, as long as nothing goes wrong in the next few hours. If nothing goes wrong, I’m done tinkering and everything’s working… or at least not broken.

Update 2: OK, now everything is working. Hopefully it will stay that way, but if not, I’ll have it fixed tonight or in the morning. There shouldn’t be any problems though.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - So I realized I was being dumb, and I can still allow comments without requiring people to sign up while still hopefully filtering out the bad ones. So, I’ve allowed people to comment by leaving their name (or pseudonym) and email address. I would appreciate it if regular commenters use the same name, so we can get to know you, but I know I can’t actually control that. For now, I’m not requiring approval for comments to show up, but if spam or other inappropriate comments become a problem, I’ll start requiring approval for them to show up. Hopefully it won’t be an issue, but the internet being what it is, we’ll see.

Saturday, October 11, 2008 - Due to an exploit that can allow users to reset the administrative password on a wordpress blog, I’ve disabled the ability for new users to register. As a side effect, this means that you won’t be able to leave comments on the blog until I can find a way to securely allow new users to register. If you would like a user account, you can email me and I’ll set one up for you, though it might be a day or two before I can do so, depending on when I receive your email. You’re also free to continue leaving pingbacks and trackbacks, as well as emailing me with any comments you may have. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I do have to protect the site.

Saturday, August 23, 2008 - Updated WordPress to 2.6.1 and added a couple plugins in order to keep things up to date. Hopefully there won’t be in any problems, but if there are, I’ll have them fixed soon.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - Updated the look of the site a bit, hopefully it should be slightly easier on the eyes now. Mostly just messing with the font, some people likely won’t even notice.

Thursday, May 1, 2008 – I’ve just enabled comments on all posts for the time being. I’m going to see how it works out and if it’s manageable for me. Hopefully this will allow for some constructive and entertaining discussion to start up.
