Carnival of Video Game Bloggers, March 2011

Welcome to the March 2011 edition of the Carnival of Video Game Bloggers. Let’s get straight to the gaming goodness.

Niels Van Hellemont starts us off this month with The dangers of excessive gaming posted at The Grumbler, saying, “This post is from February still, I hope that’s ok for you because I really believe that this is interesting to readers. I’ll also submit ‘The merits of gaming’ where I elaborate on the advantages of playing video games.” Hey Niels, not a problem. As long as it’s new to the carnival, feel free to send it in.

Following that, Niels gives us his counterpoint to his last submission, The merits of gaming posted at The Grumbler, saying, “Part 1 of the article I did on video gaming, this one is about the benefits and opportunities of gaming. The one I submitted a minute ago is part 2 which tackles the dangers of gaming.” Much more to my liking, but hey, I’m biased as a gamer.

Niels Van Hellemont switches gears a bit with MMORPG’s – why are they so massive? posted at The Grumbler, saying, “This is an article about MMOs and how they got so popular.” Here we get a brief overview of what MMOs are, which I’m guessing many of us know, but it could be a good introduction to those who have no idea.

John M presents Infinity Blade has been updated on the iPhone posted at iPhone Experience, saying, “The most impressive game on the iPhone has been updated.” Definitely an area of gaming I have not kept up with, this certainly looks like an interesting game to me for something released on the iPhone.

AkashK presents NGP (PSP 2) Preview posted at Gamer’s Regenesis, saying, “An early preview of what the Next Generation Portable has in store for everyone.” Here we have a quick preview of the NGP, so check it out if you’re interested in Sony’s next portable system.

VintageNintendos presents NES Game Genie Review with Complete Code Lists posted at 8BitFun, saying, “article I wrote about the joys of the NES Game Genie, has good links to game genie codes also.” A review of the Game Genie, and links to a long list of Game Genie codes at the end. The links leading to the download are a little hard to navigate, but a little searching will get you there, and there are a lot in case you still have your Game Genie lying around somewhere.

That concludes this edition of the Carnival of Video Game Bloggers. Join us next month for more great gaming info. You can use the carnival submission form to submit posts for next month’s carnival, to be hosted on April 28, 2011. Be sure to check out some of the posts of other submitters and perhaps leave a friendly comment or two if you like their work.
