Hmm, I took a look through K-Meleon and everything seems to be ok. I'll see if I can find anything else that might be wrong though, thanks for the heads up.

Nice website, I was doing some internet snooping and stumbled upon your blog, I was wondering if you knew your blog is displaying unusually in the K-mellon internet browser. I will see everything however the graphics are one way or another out of whack. Probably not a huge issue since basically no one uses it anymore however I am old school and still use it.

Hey Adam,

I'm aware this can be done, and I do this if I'm playing an intensive game. However, I have to say, this is quite a pain, and that doesn't change that different operating systems have system processes that use up different amounts of RAM.

Still, it is a great tip for anyone who was unaware this can be done. Thanks for bringing it up!

Any resource being used by the computer can be shut down manually via the task manager. Some, obvioulsy, are required to run so the com doesn't crash but others are "just there". If you go to the task manager and sort the processes by user name and delete all of them except the task manager then run the game, download, program... or, whatever you will devote all that now unused power to the task. (note deleting Explorer.exe will remove the start bar and desktop manager program it is normal and will restart when the computer is restarts or the user logs out) although you have to be careful because deleting the system processes can permatley damage the com...
